"Till Death Do Us Part"
"Hey can I see your homework? I don't understand a few."
"UGH you always want to see it. Why can't you do it yourself!"
They did not speak for a year until the next year fate brought them to be together again.
"Ugh she again!" She said that. Weirdly enough, that best friend of hers was pretty annoying for her but she managed to get along.
Until one day her soon to be best friend came to her desk and ask something, "Have you guys seen the drama yesterday?" She quickly said, "OH YES, the guy is really cute right??" and her soon to be her best friend said, "I know right! I can't get enough of him!"
The rest is history.
She was the only one she misread in the beginning. She always reads people right from the first sight. She knows if she's going to get along or not with that person. But her best friend gave her the "incorrect" signal.
Of course, like any other meaningful relationship, their relationship isn't always sunshine. The storms coming in and out whenever they like. To be able to understand one another is really a lifetime work. But they work it out anyway because that relationship is worth it.
She knows this kind of soul-embracing-person will only come once or twice in a lifetime. They learned a lot from each other. They understand themselves better because of that. Funny thing is, the more they're fighting, the more they get closer even though they live thousand miles away from each other. Her best friend is the one she can talk about anything without being judged, and vice versa.
19 years later after that first fight over homework, her best friend asked her with whom she can't live without? She said, "No one. I can live fine by myself." Then her best friend asked again, "Even without me in your life?"
She then answered, "Well... we are going to be dead anyway one day, so let that death make us living without one another. But later. Way way later. Don't die just yet. Later, when we're old old old and had enough of this lifetime."
"Till death do us part then?" Asked her best friend. She agreed.
She found one of her soulmates in this lifetime, and it is one of the things that makes her life worth to live in.
